BGRSO to Provide Flagship Coverage For Volleyball

Courtesy of Jason Knavel, Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications:

Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University Athletics and the Bowling Green Radio Sports Organization (BGRSO) have reached an agreement for BGRSO to provide flagship coverage of Bowling Green volleyball in 2013, including live radio coverage of all home and away contests.
“Adding BGSU volleyball to our flagship coverage, along with women’s basketball and hockey, continues our focus on Bowling Green Athletics,” Alan Marrs, executive director of BGRSO, said. “We are proud to have the full support of Coach Danijela Tomic and her staff and we are also proud of the enthusiasm and support Falcon Radio WFAL has shown for our expansion to flagship coverage on their station.”
BGRSO began broadcasting BGSU volleyball home games in 2011 when the Falcons were undefeated and hosted ranked Michigan State in the first contest inside the Stroh Center. Since that time, BGRSO has broadcast home volleyball matches. Now, BGSU fans will able to listen to broadcasts of road contests as well.
“We are thrilled that BGRSO will provide flagship coverage for our program,” Tomic said. “We want to enhance our fans’ experience in every possible way and this will help us accomplish that. Not only will our fans be able to follow us when we play at home, but also on the road.”

Year in Review

This is Alan Marrs, the Executive Director for the 2013-2014 season. I am honored with the opportunity to lead the organization next year. We are about to finish the 2013 spring semester and would like to highlight some achievements from the 2012-2013 season. The organization as a whole broadcast 141 Bowling Green Falcons Games over this past season. That is more than any other college sports media organization in the nation. The games we broadcast this season included volleyball, football, mens’ and women’s basketball, hockey, baseball and softball. We are flagship for Bowling Green Womens’ Basketball and Falcon Hockey.

There are many people we would like to thank for their support from this past season. We would like to thank Kohl Friery, this year’s Executive Director. We would also like to thank all of the outgoing seniors that have put in many hours into this organization. We thank Stephen Merrill, our faculty advisor. We also want to thank Jason Knavel, Mike Cihon, Dave Meyer, John Enright and the rest of the Bowling Green Athletic Communications Staff. A thank you must go out to Jennifer Roos, Monique Rosati, Chris Bergeron and the rest of the Bowling Green Coaching Staffs that we worked with this year. There are so many people we would like to thank for their continued support, including listeners, friends, parents and many others that would take too long to name.

We are looking forward to next year and trying to set another bar of excellence for this organization. We hope that all of our listeners continue to tune into our broadcasts and shows.
