This year started with a few Seniors in BGRSO. On exec staff we had the Executive Director Brad Woznicki, High School Sports Nick Juskewycz, Sales Chris Rambo, and Me (Sean Wilson) Promotions. Then in the general staff we had just one senior in Kevin McCarthy. At the end of Fall semester we said goodbye to Chris Rambo and Brian Fisher as they both graduated. Fish had an internship and that’s why he was still in BG and also did some games for Hockey this year.
Kevin McCarthy came to BGRSO wanting to broadcast games and became very active this year in meetings and was able to get on a few broadcasts. He always brought a great attitude to whatever he was assigned to do for the week. He came in and did his work and never complained at all. McCarthy will graduate this May and will now be an Alumni of not just BGSU but The Bowling Green Radio Sports Organization. To me that’s a great honor to have. Goodbye Kevin and Go Browns.
Nick Juskewycz came to BGRSO last year and immediately became a major contributor to the organization. He came in and learned the board and eventually got on some games and even had a crucial game for Womens Basketball when Lauren Prochaska broke another record. He came to BG after transferring from some school in Iowa. He is our resident Hawkeye fan and always believes that they will win the Big Ten in any sport. He loves to Golf and if its nice out and he doesn’t have class he will be on the nearest green. Last year Nick and I became really good friends since we both lived in Founders and during finals week last year we stayed up talking about what we wanted to do on exec staff next year if we made it. Well we did make it to exec staff and I feel we accomplished most of our goals. Nick will graduate this May and will be saying goodbye to many great friends that will last a life time. HEREEEEE WE GO.
Brad Woznicki became the executive director for BGRSO last year and also became my roommate. Brad was also the GM for 88.1 WBGU FM and this allowed for us to get a few more games on that station this year. He ran both organizations very well and also went on many road trips for BGRSO. Brad Woznicki was a good Exec Director and GM but was a better roommate. This year has been extra fun because he was able to make every day fun and exciting whether it was hanging out in the office or just relaxing on the couch at home. Brad was able to broadcast many games and even did play by play for the first ever Womens Volleyball game by BGRSO (He also had a great color guy for that game just saying). Brad broadcasted many games for BGRSO this year and was very active on helping the younger members gain experience. Brad will be doing play-by-play this summer after graduation. ”Ohhh Brad” is still my favorite blooper. Goodbye buddy.
I came into BGRSO 3 years ago and it was just because I wanted to be on the radio. I was told to come to the meeting by Angelo Velotta who I would later co-host on ANG live with and get my nickname Snap. I came and instantly started to enjoy working the board and producing games. I got to produce games for some great and future stars in radio sports. Producing games became a chore for some members but for me it was actually a lot of fun. Sure I didn’t really see many football games or basketball games my second year and even third year. I didn’t care because I knew that I was helping someone else who couldn’t make it to the game listen and enjoy the game. Producing is by far the most important part of broadcasting games. When I got a board-op I made sure that everything ran smoothly for everyone. I was able to board-op big games last year including the NCAA tournament game. I was able to be in studio for BG Womens Basketball upsetting Vanderbilt on my first ever board-op. Board-oping might look difficult to new members early on but after 3 years I could do it in my sleep. I have been humbled and honored to be a part of this great organization. I was awarded Producer of the year two years in a row and I am greatly thankful to everyone for those. I will have great memories of everyone that I was able to meet through BGRSO. I know that all the members we are leaving behind will do a great job in the organization and keep everything rolling. This isn’t goodbye its just a place holder until we meet again in the real world. Remember to stay in touch and to never forget the memories.
